About
Gulbenkian is Canterbury's multi-venue arts hub, occupying a modernist building on the University of Kent campus just outside the city centre. Its 340-seat theatre has hosted everything from experimental theatre to live music and comedy, whilst the 300-seat cinema screens arthouse and mainstream films. The venue functions as a genuine community space rather than a campus bubble, supported by Arts Council England funding and a cafe/bar that reopened in late 2025.
