Terms of Service
Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction and Acceptance
Welcome to Rave Essentials ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at raveessentials.co.uk (the "Site") and all services we provide, including the sale of physical products, the sale and distribution of event tickets, and our event promoter marketplace.
By accessing or using our Site, creating an account, making a purchase, or listing an event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site.
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under English law, including but not limited to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
- "Attendee" means any person who holds a valid ticket for an event listed on our platform.
- "Booking Fee" means the service charge applied to ticket purchases to cover platform and payment processing costs.
- "Event" means any event listed on our platform for which tickets are available for purchase.
- "Physical Products" means tangible goods sold through our shop, such as earplugs, festival accessories, and hearing protection products.
- "Platform" means the Rave Essentials website, services, and infrastructure.
- "Promoter" means an individual or organisation that lists events on our platform and sells tickets through our ticketing system.
- "Ticket" means an electronic ticket purchased through our platform, delivered as a QR code via email.
3. Account Registration and Responsibilities
You may browse our Site without creating an account. Guest checkout is available for both product purchases and ticket purchases.
If you choose to create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with anyone.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe has been compromised, is being used fraudulently, or is in breach of these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We will process your request in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data retention requirements.
4. Physical Product Purchases
4.1 Contract Formation
When you place an order for physical products, your order constitutes an offer to purchase. A legally binding contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email. We may decline any order at our discretion, for example due to stock availability, pricing errors, or suspected fraud. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will notify you and refund any payment promptly.
4.2 Pricing
All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Shipping costs are displayed separately at checkout before you confirm your order. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.
4.3 Payment
Payment for physical products is processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. We do not store your full card details on our servers. By providing payment information, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method.
4.4 Delivery and Shipping
We currently ship to UK addresses. Delivery times provided are estimates and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by Royal Mail or other courier services, or by events beyond our reasonable control. For full details, see our Shipping Policy.
Risk in the products passes to you upon delivery. If no one is available to accept delivery, the courier's standard redelivery or collection process will apply.
4.5 Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order for physical products within 14 days of receiving them, without giving any reason. To exercise this right, you must inform us of your decision to cancel by contacting us at support@raveessentials.co.uk.
You must return the products to us within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation. Products must be returned in their original condition and packaging, unused and undamaged. You are responsible for the cost of returning the products unless they are faulty or not as described.
We will refund the purchase price (including standard delivery costs) within 14 days of receiving the returned products or receiving proof of return postage, whichever is earlier.
For further details, see our Returns and Refunds Policy.
4.6 Faulty or Misdescribed Products
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If you receive a product that is faulty, damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Please contact us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, or within 6 months for a repair or replacement. These are your statutory rights and nothing in these Terms limits them.
5. Ticket Purchases
5.1 How Ticketing Works
Rave Essentials operates a ticketing marketplace. Promoters list events on our platform, set ticket prices, and are responsible for delivering the events. We act as an agent for the promoter in facilitating ticket sales. When you purchase a ticket, your contract for the event itself is with the promoter, not with Rave Essentials.
Our role is to provide the platform, process payments via Stripe Connect, deliver your electronic tickets, and facilitate communication between attendees and promoters.
5.2 Ticket Pricing and Booking Fees
Ticket prices are set by the promoter. A booking fee is added to each ticket purchase to cover platform and payment processing costs. The booking fee is clearly displayed before you confirm your purchase. All prices are in British Pounds (GBP).
5.3 Payment for Tickets
Ticket payments are processed securely through Stripe. Funds from ticket sales are held and distributed to promoters via Stripe Connect in accordance with our promoter agreements. We do not store your full card details.
5.4 Ticket Delivery
All tickets are delivered electronically. After a successful purchase, you will receive an email containing your ticket(s) with a unique QR code for each ticket. You can also access your tickets through the "My Tickets" section of your account (if you have one) or via the guest order link in your confirmation email.
It is your responsibility to ensure you provide a valid email address and to check your spam/junk folders. If you do not receive your tickets within a reasonable time after purchase, please contact us.
5.5 Ticket Refund Policy
Tickets for live events are generally exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Regulation 28(1)(h) - supply of services related to leisure activities on a specific date).
Each event may have its own refund policy, set by the promoter. The applicable refund policy is displayed on the event page before you purchase. Where the promoter allows refunds, refund requests are subject to the promoter's stated terms and any applicable time limits.
Where you request a refund because you change your mind (and the promoter's policy allows it), you will be refunded the ticket price; the booking fee is non-refundable, as shown at checkout. This does not affect your rights where an event is cancelled or materially changed (see below).
If an event is cancelled by the promoter, you are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price and booking fee. We will process this refund as soon as reasonably practicable after the cancellation is confirmed.
If an event is rescheduled, your ticket will typically remain valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date and the promoter's policy permits refunds for rescheduled events, you may request a refund.
5.6 Ticket Transfers
You may transfer your ticket to another person, subject to the following conditions:
- Transfers are facilitated through our platform using the ticket transfer feature.
- The recipient must provide a valid name and email address.
- Once transferred, the original ticket holder's access is revoked and a new ticket is issued to the recipient.
- The promoter may restrict or disable transfers for specific events.
5.7 Ticket Resale
If the promoter permits resale, you may list your ticket for resale through our platform at face value or below. Resale above face value is not permitted. Resale listings can be cancelled at any time before a buyer completes the purchase. Third-party resale platforms are not supported, and tickets purchased through unauthorised channels may be voided.
5.8 Age Restrictions
Many events listed on our platform have age restrictions (typically 18+). By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you meet the age requirements for the event. You may be asked to provide valid photo identification at the door. If you do not meet the age requirement, entry may be refused without a refund.
5.9 Event Admission and Conduct
Admission to events is at the discretion of the promoter and venue. The promoter and venue reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee who:
- Presents an invalid, duplicated, or tampered ticket.
- Does not meet the event's age or dress code requirements.
- Is intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances.
- Behaves in a manner that threatens the safety or enjoyment of others.
- Breaches the venue's terms and conditions.
Rave Essentials is not responsible for decisions made by promoters or venues regarding admission or removal.
6. Event Changes and Cancellation
Events are organised and delivered by promoters, not by Rave Essentials. Promoters are responsible for all aspects of the event, including the programme, venue, and performers.
- Event cancellation: If a promoter cancels an event, all ticket holders are entitled to a full refund. We will process refunds as promptly as possible.
- Event rescheduling: If an event is rescheduled, your tickets remain valid for the new date unless the promoter's refund policy states otherwise.
- Lineup or programme changes: Changes to performers, DJs, or the event programme do not automatically entitle you to a refund, as the event itself is still taking place.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any changes or cancellations via email.
7. Promoter Terms
If you register as a promoter on our platform, the following additional terms apply:
- You must provide accurate and truthful information about your events, including date, time, venue, capacity, and pricing.
- You are solely responsible for organising and delivering your events, including obtaining all necessary licences, permissions, and insurance.
- You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including health and safety requirements, licensing laws, and consumer protection legislation.
- Rave Essentials charges a platform commission on ticket sales, which is deducted before funds are transferred to you via Stripe Connect. Commission rates are agreed upon during onboarding.
- You must not list events that are fraudulent, misleading, or illegal.
- You are responsible for setting and communicating your event's refund policy to attendees.
- In the event of cancellation, you must honour refund obligations to ticket holders.
We reserve the right to remove events, suspend promoter accounts, or withhold payouts if we reasonably believe a promoter is acting fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.
8. Pricing and Payment (General)
All prices on our Site are in British Pounds (GBP). For physical products, prices include VAT. For tickets, booking fees and any applicable taxes are displayed separately before you complete your purchase.
We use Stripe as our payment processor. For ticket purchases, Stripe Connect facilitates payments between attendees, our platform, and promoters. We do not have access to your full payment card details.
If a payment fails or is declined, your order or ticket reservation will not be confirmed. Ticket reservations are held for a limited time during checkout; if payment is not completed within this window, the tickets will be released back for general sale.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our Site, including but not limited to text, images, graphics, logos, icons, software, and the design and layout of our pages, is owned by Rave Essentials or our licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any content from our Site without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as viewing event details or printing your own tickets.
Promoters retain ownership of their event content (descriptions, images, and branding) but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display this content on our platform for the purpose of marketing and selling tickets.
10. User Content and Conduct
Where our Site allows you to submit content (such as reviews, event descriptions, or communications), you are responsible for ensuring that your content:
- Is accurate and not misleading.
- Does not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights.
- Is not defamatory, abusive, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Does not contain viruses, malware, or harmful code.
- Complies with all applicable laws.
We reserve the right to remove any content that breaches these Terms, without notice.
You must not:
- Use our Site for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access our Site without permission.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Interfere with the proper functioning of our Site or the experience of other users.
- Attempt to purchase tickets using fraudulent payment methods.
11. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Rave Essentials is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
- We are not liable for the actions, omissions, or negligence of promoters, venues, or other third parties, including the cancellation, rescheduling, or quality of events.
- We are not liable for losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see Force Majeure below).
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to your use of our platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rave Essentials, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Your misuse of our Site or services.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Any content you submit through our platform.
- If you are a promoter: any failure to deliver an event, any health and safety incidents at your events, or any breach of your obligations to attendees.
This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent that the claim arises from our own negligence or breach of these Terms.
13. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at support@raveessentials.co.uk so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
For disputes relating to an event (such as quality, cancellation, or admission issues), these should be directed to the promoter in the first instance, as your contract for the event is with them. We will assist in facilitating communication where possible.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. However, if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory right to do so.
If you are a consumer, you may also be able to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform or an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider, although we are not obliged to participate in ADR.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms if the delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics, government actions, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, or severe weather conditions.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or services, including event venues, promoter websites, and social media platforms (such as Telegram and Discord community groups). These links are provided for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
For significant changes that materially affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance, such as by email or a prominent notice on our Site. Your continued use of our Site after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using our Site.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be severed from these Terms and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Shipping Policy, and Returns and Refunds Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rave Essentials regarding your use of our Site and services. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
